Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words and the same is so very true in tech support. However a problem solution is often a procedure and you need more than one image to illustrate it. This is where it becomes inconvinient. But not with GIFs, because a single GIF image is capable of storing all required steps. Tech support becomes much easier and on top of that you can provide it over every channel - email, Facebook, instant messaging, etc.
